The Revolting Syrian-يلا إرحل يا بشار

IF THIS IS NOT BRAVERY. THEN I DON’T KNOW WHAT IS. A WOMAN DOES WHAT SHE MUST TO LET PEOPLE KNOW HUMANITY STILL EXISTS HERE. Homs (Qusayr): Oct 9, 2012 - An elderly woman, shot by Assad’s snipers lays on the side of the road. In a familiar site across Syria, local residents attempt to use wire cables to hook the woman to drag her to safety. No one dares to approach the woman as she lay dying on the ground a few feet away, Assad’s forces will shoot them dead.

Then, in an instant you can see people start screaming “Come Back! Come Back!” The camera pans to a woman who walks across the street and drags her fallen compatriot. She is then brought to safety and onto a stretcher.

The courage it took for that woman to do what she did is beyond words. In Assad’s Syria, what she did is almost guaranteed to be a death wish. Assad’s snipers have no moral dilemma’s in shooting children, women, babies or the elderly.

Courage lives on in Homs. However, the woman who was shot by Assad’s snipers is dead.
