***LEAKED VIDEO*** SYRIAN STATE TV REPORTER CONDUCTS AN ‘INTERVIEW’ THEN HAS ‘FUN; WITH ASSAD’S FORCES & FIRES GUNS WITH THEM. Homs (Baba Amr) - As he conducts a fake interview with a ‘local citizen’ who proclaims that he was happy to see the army come into Baba Amr (the district that was flattened by Assad’s forces over a one month period and where hundreds if not thousands were killed), this Syrian State TV reporter then puts on his coat and starts firing off a mercenaries gun for fun …
These are Assad’s reporters…
Thanks @Mou2amara

ASSAD TAKES ANOTHER CUE FROM THE ISRAELI MILITARY - BUILDS A ‘SEPARATION BARRIER’ IN THE CITY OF HOMS. (Insha’a’t / Baba Amr): Apr 12, 2012 - After destroying the entire neighborhood of Baba Amr and most of Insha’at next to it, Assad’s forces begin constructing a barrier sealing off both areas from each-other.
Another tactic that Assad has borrowed from the Israeli military along with using human shields and using the word ‘collateral damage’ for the murder of women and children.
Thanks @ArabSpringFF
***LEAKED VIDEO*** ASSADS’S FORCES CHEER AND CELEBRATE THEIR LEADER AS A DEAD PROTESTER IS STRAPPED TO THE FRONT OF A BMP TANK. Homs (Baba Amr) - These men are Assad’s men. These men are his forces. The execute a man and then strap his body to the front of this Russian made and supplied tank then chant “God, Syria, Bashar and only!” along with “Shabee7a forever!”
Thanks @The_47th
***EXTREMELY DISTURBING*** ASSAD’S FORCES FILM THEMSELVES AS THEY SET A CAPTURED MAN ON FIRE THEN SLIT HIS THROAT SCREAMING “THIS IS YOUR FREEDOM!” Homs (Baba Amr) - Date Unknown: By far one of the more disturbing video’s to emerge over the past year. I suggest you do NOT watch it. I only post it to show the world that this is Assad’s army and this is what they do.
Assad’s mercenaries tie the man up and pin him to the floor, screaming at him as he says “Oh God! Oh God!” Then they set his back on fire and continue hurling insults at him. Finally, one of Assad’s men takes his hunting knife and and starts to slit his throat while screaming “Is this the freedom you want? This is your freedom!”
All the horror stories, all the nightmares, all the eyewitness testimony that is not caught on tape. This is a brief glimpse and a small fraction of what actually happens.
This man was just a resident of Baba Amr, Homs. He probably wasn’t even on some wanted list or a member of the Free Syrian Army or a known activist or protester - if he was his already brutal and merciless death would have been far worse.
Yes, worse than being burned alive and having your throat cut.
This man was merely a resident of the town he was born in. He was punished because his town rose up and called out for freedom, dignity and to be treated as human beings. It does not matter if that he himself protested or not.
Assad ordered his forces to “cleanse” Homs. This is what “cleansing” is. Make no mistake, this leaked video may well have been released by Assad’s regime to spread more fear. The mercenary at the end - who carried out the final and brutal act, who’s face is clear as day, has no fears for his life or retribution - he is a mercenary in Assad’s army and in Assad’s country. What he did was legal under Assad’s law.
Just imagine the crime you just witnessed in this video has also been carried out against children and women? No exaggerations, no tall tales, no rumors. This exact same death has been dealt to them - their bodies are proof of such and God only knows when the world will witness those macabre videos.
God only knows how many more innocent Syrians have to die like this poor man did.
Thanks @ArabSpringFF
***LEAKED VIDEO*** AN ASSADIST SOLDIER FILMS THE DESTRUCTION HE AND HIS FORCES BROUGHT UPON THE NEIGHBORHOOD OF BABA AMR. Homs (Baba Amr) - He takes us through the destroyed streets and past the obliterated buildings. He then shows us a glimpse of a half dozen men in a room, all executed (as shown in this video of Assad mercenaries gloating about it).
To think that the world just sat back and watched an entire neighborhood of 12sq/km be erased off the map and it’s people cleansed …

***LEAKED VIDEO*** ASSAD’S FORCES SHOW OFF THEIR LATEST MASS EXECUTION - Homs (Baba Amr): Date Unknown - A mercenary clearly says to his commander “Sir, I shot this one in his eye, and in his eye and in his eye!”
Assad’s forces film their latest “trophy” video from a home in Baba Amr, Homs where they rounded up these men and executed them upon their invasion of the neighborhood. These men are only a fraction of the men, women and children who were abducted and executed en mass when Assad’s forces entered the area.
AS BASHAR AL ASSAD STROLLS THE STREETS OF BABA AMR, THE NEIGHBORHOOD IS STILL UNDER ATTACK EVEN THOUGH IT’S OCCUPIED. Homs (Baba Amr): Mar 27, 2012 - This mosque, which has been the focus of dozens of videos of the shelling in Baba Amr is attacked yet again by Assad’s forces on the day that the tyrant himself was taken on a tour of the massacred city so he can admire what his forces did to the city and inspect the graves of the babies he ordered to be murdered.

My Two Cents - Excellent article by @MalikAlAbdeh on why the FSA should switch tactics to a guerilla war (or war of attriciton) rather than hold ground against Assad’s much more powerful Russian backed army. Of course, and as is usually the case, these opinions are from people who are not on the ground and facing Assad’s bullets, shells and massacres …
The Free Syrian Army, the military arm of the Syrian revolution, is in trouble. Its attempts to hold ground against Assad’s forces in Rastan, Homs, Zabadani, Deir az-Zour and Idlib have failed.
Currently, the FSA is a loose umbrella group of at least eleven local militia groups operating across the country with various degrees of success. Only a minority of its fighters are army defectors; the majority are civilians, albeit those who may have received basic military training during compulsory national service. They are organized locally and armed with nothing more sophisticated than AK-47 assault rifles, RPGs, and PK machine guns.
Lack of sophisticated hardware, effective leadership and nation-wide co-ordination, has meant that the FSA has had to retreat in the face of overwhelming firepower from ground and air by an enemy which is well-trained and cohesive. The prospect of NATO military intervention that saved the Libyan rebels, appears slim.
Recent reverses call for a shake-up in the way the Free Syrian Army (FSA) has approached the war with Assad. It needs to stop believing its own propaganda and be more realistic about its own capabilities and those of the enemy. It should operate on the assumption that there will no foreign military intervention and it should plan for a long guerrilla insurgency that builds on its own strengths and the enemy’s weakness.

BBC PANORAMA: THE TRAGEDY OF HOMS - BBC reporter Paul Wood, who has only just come out of Syria, charts the rise and brutal suppression of the uprising in the Syrian city of Homs.
The Baba Amr neighbourhood of Homs has seen the heaviest bombardment of the Syrian conflict so far. New satellite images from GeoEye & Google (open in Google Earth with this KML) highlight the level of destruction, showing a deserted, pock-marked landscape full of craters, holes and rubble.
We’ve combined these new images with footage that Storyful curated as events unfolded, tracking video from citizen journalists over a month of bombardment in Homs that has decimated homes and businesses and claimed hundreds of lives.

“They broke into Baba Amr!”—after a month of the Syrian government’s shelling, siege, and continuous attempts to invade Homs, this was expected. And yet, the sentence left me paralyzed with fear and anger. They broke into Baba Amr—a fact as final and perplexing as death.
Baba Amr, a neighborhood in Homs—my home town—has been a center of rebellion, but invading it will not end Syria’s yearlong uprising. The protest movement is deeply rooted now, from Idlib, in the north, all the way south, to Daraa. Assad’s attempt to quash the protest against his regime by military force has failed, and will fail. The monthlong war against the neighborhood, though, marked a shift in the Syrian uprising: it cut the remaining ties between those who support Assad and those who oppose him.

***GRAPHIC*** THE AL SALLOUH FAMILY WAS MASSACRED BY ASSAD’S FORCES IN BABA AMR, HOMS - THEN SYRIAN STATE TV “SET’S THE STAGE” AND FILMS THE SCENE AS IF PERPETRATED BY “TERRORISTS”. Homs (Baba amr): Mar 5, 2012 - This is how disgustingly filthy the Assad regime can be. They slit the throats of a whole family … even a little girl in her bed. Then they call the semi-state owned TV station “Addounia” to film the scene as if it were carried out by the “terrorists” the regime has been chasing for the past year.
Assad’s supporters even had time to make a full dinner to place on the ground (and film the tray of food multiple times … panning towards the dead family) for effect. Forget the fact that there is no food to speak of in Baba Amr (except for people’s dwindling supply of “burghul” - a wheat/grain staple)
Just when we think we’ve seen the worst the Assad regime had to offer … we see this … filming a little girl whom they killed in her bed.
If the Red Cross has been denies access to Baba Amr since the invasion began last week due to “security concerns”… then how is it that Addounia TV crews can go and come as they please?
Today we only know of a fraction of the horror that has happened in Baba Amro. After Assad is gone and the truth comes out, people will be reading about the massacre of Baba Amr for generations to come … and say to themselves “Why didnt anyone do anything to help them?
