The Massacre of Baniyas, Tartous (Syria) .. Cont’d
May 2, 2013 - As the massacre continues into it’s second day, short and grisly scenes of the massacre are emerging. Hundreds of men, women and children have been executed by Assad’s forces in what is only the start (after close to 80,000 dead) of the coastal campaign to ‘cleanse’ the Syrian coast (Assad’s stronghold) of any opposition to his rule.
This video below is one of the more horrendous ones to emerge from Syria in many months. In this room there are no less than 20 people. All from the same family. 9 of the people are little children. All are executed. You can see how there were murdered, mothers holding their children. A mother holding her baby. A pregnant woman holding her daughter. Sisters hugging eachother. All were murdered where they lay by Assad’s forces.
Bodies lay in the streets. Most were butchered.
A family, including women and small children butchered inside their home
They were executed then set alight
More of the dead, most were butchered with knives
A baby girl, killed then burned by Assad’s forces.
A young girl crouching in her home. Shot dead by Assad’s forces.
More photos of bodies in the streets
Three boys mourn over the body of their father who was executed in the street
More charred bodies in the street

The Massacre of Baniyas, Tartous (Syria)
May 2, 2013 - Upto 300 men, women and children were killed in what can only be described as the start of the ethnic cleansing campaign on the coast of Syria. Assad’s forces entered the predominantly Sunni neighborhood of Bayada after hours of shelling and began extracting civilians from their home and executing them in the town square. Men, women and children. None were spared.
The planned massacre was announced by Assad’s forces beforehand, then carried out, and then as in the massacre of Daraya, filmed and broadcast on the Assad Regime’s TV channels.
Civilians in the town also begged with anyone that would listen that a massacre was imminent.
The town of Baniyas is in the Assad stronghold province of Tartous and has no FSA fighters.
Some photos from the aftermath. All were taken by Assad’s forces and posted on FB pages gloating about the massacre.
Locals are lead away to be executed.
Shortly after, they are killed. Many slaughtered with knives or bludgeoned with large rocks.

ARRESTING SCHOOLCHILDREN IN BANIYAS - Nov 2, 2011: Not even under the most vile of dictatorships has there been a tyrant like the Assad’s. Arresting schoolchildren for chanting? Chanting for freedom nonetheless ….
HIS ORGANS WERE STOLEN - Baniyas, Sept, 28, 2011 - Ahmed Abdo was arrested by Bashar Al Assad’s forces and he was returned to his family a corpse bearing horrific signs of torture and his main internal organs removed. The video shows his family wailing and screaming over the sight of his body.
THE BRAVEST PEOPLE ON EARTH - This video was shot in April, 2011 in the town of Baniyas. These brave protesters lay on the road with their shirts off and ‘peace’ signs in the air to show the approaching tank that they are demonstrating peacefully and they are unarmed.
I’m not sure what happened to these men, but given the Syrian Regime’s history of massacre’s it may not have ended peacefully.
Revolting: present participle of re·volt (Verb): To rise in rebellion.
Syrians are revolting against the Assad regime. This is their story, their fight for freedom and justice against tyranny and oppression.
