Damascus (Arbeen): Mar 30, 2012 - In reference to his new nickname “duck”, which was discovered when a British tabloid uncovered emails between Bashar and his wife Asma where she refers to her tyrant husband as “Batta” (female duck in Arabic), these protesters mock the dictator and cheer for their eventual freedom on this Friday dubbed “The Arabs and Muslims have Failed Us” - in reference to the in-action and indifference fellow Arabs and the Muslim world has shown to the suffering of the Syrian people.

***COMEDY BREAK*** THE FIRST DEFECTIONS OF THE DUCKS FROM ASSAD’S DUCK BRIGADES. Hama: Mar 19, 2012 - A couple of ducks announce their defection live on camera from the beseied city of Hama. In emails leaked by The Guardian, Assad’s wife addresses the tyrant as “Batta” in her emails. “Batta” means a female duck in Arabic. Syrians have been having one hell of a time with this latest revelation about the cowardly tyrant.

It still amazes me how the people of Syria, under such grave and miserable circumstances can take time to have a laugh.

THEY CHANT IN ZABADANI “GOD DAMN YOUR SOUL OH DUCK!” (يلعن روحك يا بطة ). Damascus: Mar 17, 2012 - In refernce to Bashar and Asma’s leaked emails by The Guradian where Asma is seen using the word “Batta” (بطة ) which means (a female) Duck as her nickname for Bashar, these protesters in Zabadani use the popular chant of “God Damn Your Soul Oh Hafez” and change the words to the above mentioned chant.

Excellent stuff. Amazes me that despite all the pain, misery, death and suffering the people of Syria are still able to produce humor.
