Fighting in parts of Syria has morphed into local guerrilla wars, the Red Cross said Tuesday, where the number of prisoners remains unknown and 1.5 million people need help getting food, water, shelter, power and sanitation.  

Fighting in the central city of Homs, where U.N. observers helped halt weeks of artillery attacks, and in the northern Syrian town of Idlib are now non-international armed conflicts, said Jakob Kellenberger, president of International Committee of the Red Cross.  

“The type of the violence has changed a little bit,” Kellenberger told a news conference at ICRC headquarters in Geneva.

‘CEASEFIRE DAY 1’ A MOTHER AND HER NEWBORN BABY ARE SHOT DEAD BY ASSAD’S SNIPERS. Homs (Bayadeh): Apr 12, 2012 - Kofi Annan called Day 1 of the ceasefire “encouraging” … i’d ask Kofi to tell the husband of this woman, the father of this child the same thing.

Just because Assad stopped his blanket and indiscriminate shelling of entire cities, does not mean that he has abided by the terms of the ceasefire.

ASSAD TAKES ANOTHER CUE FROM THE ISRAELI MILITARY - BUILDS A ‘SEPARATION BARRIER’ IN THE CITY OF HOMS. (Insha’a’t / Baba Amr): Apr 12, 2012 - After destroying the entire neighborhood of Baba Amr and most of Insha’at next to it, Assad’s forces begin constructing a barrier sealing off both areas from each-other.

Another tactic that Assad has borrowed from the Israeli military along with using human shields and using the word ‘collateral damage’ for the murder of women and children.

AN ASSADIST TANK FIRES ON MOURNERS ATTENDING THE FUNERAL OF A MARTYR KILLED THE DAY BEFORE BY ASSAD’S FORCES. Hama (KafrZeita): Apr 10, 2012 - On the supposed ‘CeaseFire’ day, these mourners come under attack by a gunner on a Russian made and supplied tank in the cemetery.

At 0:50 you can clearly see the tank down the road and hear the automatic fire as people duck behind tombstones for cover. The defiant crowd then begins to chant - under a hail of bullets - “To heaven we will go, martyrs in the millions!” (على الجنة رايحين شهداء بالملايين ) in defiance.

Homs (Khalidiyeh): Apr 10, 2012 - On the day the world threatened Assad to abide by a ceasefire, Assad’s forces killed more than 50 men, women and children. His forces did not pull out of any cities, nor did they stop their brutal oppression. The world just sat back and watched as Assad made a fool of them once again …

What on earth could this little boy have done to deserve such a horrific injury? He can’t even get proper medical treatment because 1) He is a Homsi 2) He was injured by Assad’s forces, so he’s forbidden to seek treatment at any public or private hospital and 3) Doctors are forbidden to treat him.

Luck for him volunteer doctors are there to offer what help they can and the sparse medical treatment he is receiving comes from donations from people around the world. Those are the only two reasons that he might live thought this physically. Mentally he will be scarred for life.

WHAT KIND OF LIFE IS THIS WHEN YOU MUST RISK YOUR LIFE FOR CROSSING A STREET. Homs: Apr 9, 2012 - The video speaks for itself. A car (taxi) is used to cross the street. It crashes and as the occupants try to get out, one is shot in the side. 

Nearby a few men and a boy then attempt to reclaim the car and eventually do.

***GRAPHIC*** AN ENTIRE FAMILY IS EXECUTED IN THEIR HOME AND THEIR BODIES SET ON FIRE BY ASSAD’S FORCES. Aleppo (Tel Rifaat): Apr 9, 2012 - This is the family of Abduallah Al Sakran. Assad’s forces burst into their home and executed them, then burned them - dead or dying.

In a town that is only 30km from Syria’s largest city, Assad’s forces murdered 40 people in one day by brutally shelling and attacking the town.

More intense anti-aircraft fire and shelling here. It appears they want to destroy every building, occupied or not.
