EVEN IN DEATH, ASSAD’S FORCES WILL NOT ALLOW THEM TO REST IN PEACE. Aleppo (Salah Al Din): May 16, 2013 - They were shot by Asasd’s snipers weeks, maybe months ago. No one can go claim the bodies. if they try, Assad’s forces will ensure they join the bodies on the street floor.
Thanks @SyriaDayofRage
PEOPLE CONTINUE TO MAKE THE ‘CROSSING OF DEATH’ IN ORDER TO LIVE. Aleppo (Bustan Al Qasr): May 13, 2013 - You’ve never thought about it. You cross the street as most people on Earth do, you look both ways, make sure there are no cars or bikes and then cross. You don’t hesitate or hide behind a street corner. You don’t stop and think to yourself, “is it worth my life? do I have to cross?”. You just simply cross.
That is not the case for the people of this neighborhood. They don’t look left or right. They don’t walk. They say a little prayer, then run for their life as Assad’s snipers fire at them. They must do this every single day.
A short film was made about the ‘Crossing of Death’, watch it here.
Thanks @NuffSilence
THE MOST RESILIANT PEOPLE ON EARTH. THEY SAVE A MAN FROM ASSAD’S SNIPERS. Aleppo (Bab Al Hadeed): May 7, 2013 - A bewildered and elderly man lay on the street in Aleppo. He was shot by Assad’s snipers and does not know what to do. Local FSA fighters try to convince him to move to safety, they even throw him a line … none of which he responds to. Then finally a random civilian runs into the middle of the street and drags the old man to safety under a hail of bullets. He almost makes it but is a few feet short. A few seconds later yet another man jumps in to drag the man to safety, again, under a hail of bullets from Assad’s forces.
Thanks @NMSyria
SHOT BY ASSAD’S SNIPERS A DAY EARLIER, SHE FINALLY SUCCUMBS TO HER INJURIES AND DIES. Daraa (Al-Mahata): May 5, 2013 - Farah Al Sayed is just a little girl. Yet that did not stop Assad’s sniper from targeting her in his scope, watching her, then pulling the trigger and shooting her in the head.
Thanks @LccSy
BUSTAN AL QASR’S “CROSSING OF DEATH” WHAT DAILY LIFE IS LIKE FOR THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE. Aleppo (Bustan Al Qasr): May 1, 2013 - This is what “life” is like in one neighborhood in Aleppo. Thousands of people must cross this street each day as Assad’s snipers relentlessly shoot anyone they wish.
These scenes are repeated thousands of times each day across Syria …
Thanks @AmalHanano
CROSSING THIS STREET MAY BE THE LAST THING THESE PEOPLE EVER DO. Aleppo (Bustan Al Qasr): Apr 30, 2013 - Assad’s snipers don’t care. They will shoot anyone. This is how the people of Aleppo must move from street to street. They have to run for their lives. This is what everyday ‘life’ is like for these people …
Thanks @NuffSilence
THIS IS WHAT DAILY ‘LIFE’ IS LIKE FOR THE PEOPLE OF THIS CITY. Aleppo (Bustan Al Qasr): Apr 20, 2013 - What kind of life is this? To get from one street to the next you have to literally run for your life, or else Assad’s snipers will shoot you dead. You can hear a few of the shot ring out as people cross … Assad’s soldiers are merely ‘having fun’ by terrifying these people.
And you ask us why the people of Syria revolted?
Thanks @ANA_Feed
THE PEOPLE OF SYRIA HAVE BECOME EXPERTS IN RESCUING PEOPLE FROM ASSAD’S SNIPERS. Damascus (Qaboun): Apr 17, 2013 - Yet another person lay in the street, shot by Assad’s snipers. I do not know if he is alive or not, but that does not matter to the people of Qaboun, they will do anything it takes to rescue the man and retrieve his body.
Thanks @Lccsy
LOCALS MANAGE TO RESCUE AN ELDERLY WOMAN SHOT BY ASSAD’S SNIPERS. Aleppo (Sahet Al-Milh): Apr 13, 2013 - Yes, she is an old woman. Yes, she was deliberately by Assad’s snipers as she attempted to the death-defying act of crossing a street in Aleppo … the city of snipers.
Locals mange to get a rope around her and drag her to safety. You can clearly hear shots ring out from Assad’s snipers as they finally drag hr out of their range.
Thanks @ANA_Feed
HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING. HE KNEW WHO HIS TARGET WAS. HE LOOKED HER IN THE EYES AND SHOT HER DEAD. Daraa (Busra Al Sham): Apr 9, 2013 - Hadeel Ahmed Al Mubarak was shot dead by an Assadist sniper. Hadeel is just a little girl. What could she have possibly done to deserve this death? Why would any man look a little girl in the eyes and shoot her?
Thanks @LccSy
THIS IS HOW CIVILLIANS HAVE TO MOVE AROUND FROM STREET TO STREET. Aleppo (Sheikh Maqsood): Apr 6, 2013 - After the FSA liberated this neighborhood in Aleppo city, Assad’s forces began their usual campaign, to start bombing it to the ground and to make life unbearable for it’s residents. Here we can see masses of people trying to cross form one area to another while Assad’s snipers fire away. Each ‘wave’ of people must have an FSA escort to take them across … Assad’s forces will fire on anyone regardless … be they a man, woman, child, fighter … anyone.
Thanks @NuffSielnce
WHAT KIND OF ‘LIFE’ IS THIS? RESIDENTS CROSSING A STREET IN ALEPPO MUST DODGE ASSAD’S SNIPERS. Aleppo (Bustan Al Qasr): Apr 6, 2013 - This is how residents must cross the road. They have to run for their very lives just to cross a street. Families, street sellers, businessmen, vendors, women, children, elderly … all are targets.
What kind of life is this? Is this the Baathis utopian dream that Assad and his supporters wanted? Is this how they wanted ‘their’ people to live … in eternal fear?
Thanks @NuffSilence
SHOT DEAD AND RIGHT THROUGH THE HEART BY ASSAD’S SNIPERS. HE’S ONLY A BOY. Daraa (Sahem Al Golan): Apr 5, 2013 - Ahmed Harfoush was with his family when an Assadist sniper targeted him in his scope, then found his chest, and pulled the trigger and killed him.
Here we can see Ahmed being washed and prepared for his burial.
Thanks @syrianhr
IF YOU SURVIVE PASSING THE TWO REGIME SNIPERS, YOU CAN LOOK FORWARD TO A REGIME CHECKPOINT AT THE END. Aleppo (Bustan Al Qasr): Apr 4, 2013 - This is what ‘life’ is like in Aleppo, Syria. This is what residents must do everyday as they pass from street to street. To make matters worse, if you do manage to survive the snipers shooting at you, you must encounter a truly hellish experience, an Assad regime checkpoint. Many people are sent back from Assadist checkpoints in Aleppo, one not too far from here will send you back for any ‘reason’ they wish …. down the river, hands tied behind your back, with a bullet in your head … to Bustan Al Qasr.
On average, about 3-4 bodies are found in the the Quaik River each day, the single worst day say close to 100 sent down … all executed, hands tied behind their back.
Thanks @omarsyria
NO ‘TARGET’ IS OFF LIMIT TO ASSAD’S FORCES. NOT EVEN A BEWILDERED OLD MAN. Aleppo (Bab Al Nasr): Apr 2, 2013 - He was walking down the street in this neighborhood when an Assadist sniper lifted his rifle, put the old man in it’s crosshair and fired at him. It’s as brutally simple as that. The was no reason to shoot this old man, just plain, ugly spite.
Two men across the street try to urge the elderly man to drag himself towards the wall. But he does not respond, wounded, bleeding and obviously very distressed the man has no idea what to do.
Unless he himself gets up and runs to safety, Assad’s soldiers will gladly watch this old man bleed to death on the street.
